Gifts of Time and Talent Are Always in Need
Consider volunteering and providing your donation of time to the Barry Community Free Clinic! Volunteers are the backbone of our clinic and we are excited to announce that we had more than fifty individuals donate their time between October 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011. And although the year saw the departure of several long-time volunteers, twenty new recruits joined our team of volunteers! All clinical services and most administrative services are provided by volunteers. Without these generous people, BCFC would not exist. Currently, medical professionals including doctors, pharmacists, nurses and lab technicians are needed in order to deliver clinical services. Volunteers are also needed to work in administrative roles. Finally, we are always seeking community members to help us with our special events, fundraising goals, or general public relations needs!How to Become a Volunteer?
Individuals who wish to volunteer at the Barry Community Free Clinic are encouraged to call Donna, the Executive Director at 269-945-4444 for more information. Volunteer information sessions will be held periodically at the Free Clinic beginning in 2012. Watch the website for more information.
Medical providers may be primary care physicians (MD’s and DO’s) or midlevel providers (NP’s and PA’s). Midlevels will be given physician support either in person or by phone whenever working at the clinic. Nurses are especially needed at this time.
Support staff roles including receptionists, patient representatives and phone assistants as well as other office roles may be filled by motivated individuals. On the job training is available for office volunteers.
